Jain Malkin, CID, AAHID, EDAC
"Within the past ten years there has been a remarkable change in the aesthetics of healthcare environments, however we have yet to see what are likely to be the extraordinary results of employing evidence-based design in tandem with a focus on organizational culture and attention to operational performance."
Jain Malkin
Note: The above statement was written in 2005.
The design of healing environments quickly became an industry buzzword after publication of her book Hospital Interior Architecture in 1992 which promoted the concept of research-based design. She has guided thousands to the idea of ”designing the patient experience” through her books, articles, lectures, courses, and seminars. As creative director, she led the firm she founded in 1970 toward performance excellence and innovation.
