Introduction to Ambulatory Care
Ambulatory care facilities benefit from evidence-based design features that create positive distraction, enable views of nature or landscape, have good wayfinding legibility, provide easy access and accessibility. Although these facilities can be quite large, the ability to bring natural light into the core is desirable to create healthful work spaces for staff and good orientation for visitors. Interior architecture with a wellness orientation (use of color, finish materials, interesting lighting and uplifting ambience) is optimal for creating memorable patient experiences.
