The combination PET/CT scan enables diagnosticians to observe metabolic function in body organs accompanied by images of tissue and anatomical data. The goal of the Early Detection Center is to identify disease—for the most part, cancer and cardiovascular disease—at the earliest stage when intervention can provide the best outcome. The ceiling of the scanner room is a “slice” through the nautilus shell. Segments of the shell are highlighted with fiber optic lighting that cycles through a spectrum of color.
