A unique Cisco product called HealthPresence allows a patient, perhaps in a rural area, or in one of the many far-off places in which Cisco employees work, to undergo a virtual physical examination and diagnosis by a remotely-located care provider. It also permits a physician to consult with specialist colleagues through a video screen enabled with software that can transmit a patient’s vital signs and medical health record and the patient can be interviewed in real time via a webcam.
